Hi Friends, It is really an unfortunate situation …because of corona outbreak …we all are confined to our homes .During the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, millions of us are under stay-at-home orders and practicing social distancing. And for many of us, this means more time in the kitchen ..cooking meals. Most of you must be looking for some simple and less time taking recipes. Sometimes..when we do not want to put in much efforts for cooking, but still want to have something delicious and healthy to eat. After running out of instant noodles, the only way left with us is to cook something as simple as possible with very few ingredients. At this time dal chawal comes as a saviour. It is simple to make Dabhe wali Daal as that can be prepared immediately with minimal and basic ingredients available in your kitchen.
Moong daal is one of the simplest Indian daals made with split petite yellow lentils.
Of all the daals that I grew up eating at home on a regular basis, moong dal was probably everyone’s least favourite. But after eating this tadke wali daal .. everyone in my home started liking it so much that now this daal is in our menu twice a week.
I got this Moong Daal Tadka recipe from one of my punjabi friend… she makes delicious moong daal, best part is that here we just put everything together and cook in one go and at the end just add little ghee with chilli and coriander powder for tempering or tadka …that’s it and believe me the bland moong daal turns into a delicious daal.
You can add green chilli and garlic also in tadka that I also do when my daughters are home, since they find moong daal very bland and they love garlic flavour in daal. Moong Daal has ample of nutrients…it is extremely light and easy to digest. Moong Daal is rich in Vitamin A, B, C and E and also in many minerals including iron, calcium, and potassium. Not to forget it is a powerful source of vegetarian protein. It is considered a healthy weight loss food as it is a low fat food rich in proteins and fibre. It curbs cravings and keep us full for a long time. It detoxifies the body and benefits the metabolism as well as immune system. It helps to lower the high cholesterol level in the blood system. Regular intake of Green Moong reduces bad cholesterol and improves the flexibility of arteries and veins. It also regulates the blood pressure. How To Make Moong Daal Tadka : Ingredients :
