Very easy to make, this Apple Crumble recipe is a keeper that you’ll make again and again. Often, For army parties, I make this pudding, this is the tried and tested recipe which I am using for ages and it never goes wrong.

Another apple pudding which I really like to make often for dinner parties. Parties are very common in our Indian society we welcome our guests warmheartedly and treat them like God !! Coming back to point, this recipe is so quick and easy that anybody can make it within no time that’s the reason I like this pudding so much. Without wasting any more time let’s get back to the pudding so that you can make and try it yourself and let me know how you like it. Although it is a very popular British pudding we also relish it and like it. it’s just yummmm… So gear up your kitchen tools and start making this exotic pudding by following step by step instructions.

In fact, I tried this pudding at so many places but I was not a big fan of apple crumble before because I found this pudding very dry and chewy. However, later I tried this amazing recipe and I become a great fan of the apple crumble.

Why use this Apple Crumble recipe?

There are tons and tons of Apple Crumble recipes out there. This recipe doesn’t have any groundbreaking techniques or secret ingredients. But it works, tastes great and it makes an Apple Crumble that is everything it should be. Specifically:

1. The apple filling is not dry or watery. It is made ever so slightly jammy/syrupy with the addition of flour mixed with the usual sugar (plus cinnamon for fragrance). Just a bit of flour really makes a difference; and

2. The crumbly topping bakes up beautifully crisp but is not dry or doughy or overly sweet. It crumbles when you serve it – hence the name 😉 – but it doesn’t disintegrate, there are chunks that hold together. Think chunky muesli/granola – like that. But softer. 🙂

Finally, I would like to suggest you few more recipes from my blog

Apple crumble is an apple pudding that has very simple ingredients and is super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 6 Red apples, peeled, cored and diced

  • 250 gm brown sugar

  • 200 gm  plain flour

  • 120 gm butter

  • 1 clove or cinnamon stick

  • 3 tbsp chopped nuts ( nuts of your choice )

Directions

  • Put the apple chunks into a pan, add three-quarters of the brown sugar, the cinnamon stick or clove and cover.
  • Allow to stew gently till it turns a little soft, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Keep checking as they can easily burn at the beginning.
  • Check that the fruit is cooked by mashing it a bit with a wooden spoon. The apples should be soft but not puréed.
  • Put the apples into the serving dish and allow them to cool. Set the temperature of the oven to 150 C
  • Flour and butter
  • Mix the flour, remaining sugar and the butter with your fingers in a bowl until it becomes like a breadcrumb consistency. Add chopped nuts to the mixture.
  •  Cover the stewed apples with the crumble topping, without pressing down.
  • Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown and crunchy. Spoon a helping crumble into a dish and serve with cream or ice cream.
