LENTIL SOUP- Lentil soup or dal ka shorba is a very basic and easy to make soup. It has very few and simple ingredients. I prefer to make this soup with moong dal. However, you can use any lentil of your choice.

There exists a food that binds the universe! It is soup. You may be in any part of the world and be sure to find out about the local soup, broth, gruel, consommé or shorba! A soup is a soup. Soups are always a welcome addition to menus for parties, family meals, special occasions and some lazy evening meals.

You can make this soup in pressure cooker, slow cooker or even in wok. Clean and wash moong dal in a pressure cooker, wash tomatoes and cut into big pieces, wash and cut all vegetables of your choice put all of them in the cooker with water, add fresh coriander and cook for 5 min or till two whistles. Let cool. remove and blend into a puree.  Heat a pan add butter in it when melts add jeera cook till light brown Pour puree in a pan and bring to a boil .add black pepper and salt in it. garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Varieties of soup:

There are many varieties of soups- thin and clear, creamy or thick, hot and cold. A thin light soup is suitable for a large, hearty meal, while a thick, creamy soup is usually served with simple, light meals. Though hot soups are enjoyable at all times, chilled, mildly flavoured soups are delightfully refreshing in summer. I start with some simple yet healthy homemade soups and then creamy, exotic soups like Dal ka shorba, tomato soup.

In fact, I would like to suggest you few interesting recipes from my blog
