Can I Make a Chocolate Trifle in Advance?

Yes! Not only you can make this chocolate trifle in advance, but you also most certainly should! Trifles need time for the flavours to come together and for the moisture from the pudding and cream to soak into the cake and cookies. You can bake the cake (or brownies) up to two days in advance, and the assembled trifle can be refrigerated at least four hours or up to one day in advance. Save the final decorative sprinkle of crumbs until just before serving so the top is fresh and festive.

Step By Step Recipe-

To arrange trifles take a big rectangle glass bowl. Cut very thin slices of sponge cake. Take out ice cream in a bowl and beat it lightly and keep it in the fridge.

Heat a pan and put sugar in it to caramelise, when sugar starts melting and the colour starts changing add nuts in it mix well and take out before it turns dark in colour on a greased steel plate leave it for 10min or till turns hard. Now crush caramelize nuts coarsely and keep aside.

Now arrange a layer of sliced cake in the bottom of the bowl, spread 3 tbsp chocolate sauce over it and sprinkle 3tbsp milk also to soak it.

Sprinkle caramelized nuts on it. Now put ¼ of the ice cream on it and spread it well. Again put a layer of cake, then chocolate sauce then nuts and ice cream in last. Arrange at least three layers like this.

Top with lots of nuts and chocolate sauce and freeze. Serve chilled.

Serving Suggestion:

You can arrange this chocolate truffle pudding in a decorative pudding glass or can use any goblet or wine glass for special occasions.
