Mix Dal fry is a delicious lentil recipe popular in India that is made with a mixture of tur dal, moong dal, chana dal, urad dal and masoor dal. onions, tomatoes and spices. Relish this mouthwatering, mildly-spiced, creamy lentil dish with Bati, roti, naan or your favourite steamed rice.

Panchmel dal recipe is one such classical dal with a combination of lentils in it. each added dal contributes its own flavour, taste and thus adding 5 dal makes it a super tasty recipe.

This dal has to be made with 5 dal variants and hence it is known as Pancha Ratna Dal. I personally recommend using the below-listed dal types, but you may add any edible lintels.

Why This Mix Dal ?

This dal is super delicious and the creamy, mix dal or panchmel dal recipe is one such classical dal with a combination of lentils in it. each added dal contributes its own flavour, taste and thus adding 5 dal makes it a super tasty recipe.

Adding special Rajasthani tadka with onion, garlic and tomatoes takes this dal to next level. This dal best goes with Rajasthani Dal Bati Churma. However, I like this mix dal with rice and roti as well.

Dal Tadka is one of the most popular lentil dishes served in Indian restaurants. Basically, dal tadka is cooked lentils that are tempered with oil or ghee fried spices & herbs.

I have to admit that I simply love the mix dal tadka that is served at the restaurants.

So I try to recreate the restaurant magic in most of the food that I make at home. Here the restaurant-style flavours come from smoking the dal using red-hot charcoal.

Trust me, this simple method of smoking makes the dal so much flavorful and tasty. In the Hindi language, we also call this smoking technique dhungar.

How To Make Special Rajasthani Tadka-

This special Rajasthani masala is very flavourful and aromatic due to lots of garlic and red chilli. To make special onion garlic masala tadka I added around 3 tsp garlic paste to the tadka and whole red chillis. To make tadka roast onion and ginger garlic in aromatic ghee. With the aroma of asafoetida and whole red chillies, this tadka is very flavorful and colourful too.
