one cup of diced watermelon contains 43 calories, 0 grams of fat, 2 grams of sodium, 11 grams of carbohydrate (including 9 grams of sugar and 1 gram of fiber), and 1 gram of fiber. One cup of watermelon will provide 17% of vitamin A, 21% of vitamin C, 2% of iron, and 1% calcium needed for the day. So you can say excellent fruit for those who are diet conscious.

Watermelon also contains thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, choline, lycopene, and betaine. According to the National, Watermelon Promotion Board. It contains more lycopene than any other fruit or vegetable. Despite being a great source of the above nutrients, it is made up of 92% water.

Ingredients

  • Serves 5

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon juice

  • 8 tbsp strawberry crush

  • 4 tsp cream

  • 4-5 fresh strawberries (chopped )

  • For garnishing – a strawberry and mint spring f

Directions

  • Cut watermelon into small pieces. Remove seeds. Put the pieces in a blender and blend for a few seconds. Strain the juice. 
  • Add strawberry crush, freshly chopped strawberries, and cream. Blend again for a few seconds. 
  • Fill 1/3 of the glass with crushed or cubed ice. Pour the prepared drink and garnish with slit strawberry and a spring of mint. Serve  
  • if the strawberry crush is not readily available to you, you can substitute it with roohafza (a special Ayurvedic drink readily available in India )
  • Instead of strawberries, you can add fresh lime juice to a drink this will give the same sourness.
