Potato fudge || Prasad|| Fasting Food Recipe

Today I am sharing a very tasty halwa i.e. Aloo Ka Halwa !! I was waiting for my network to work properly since last so many days, perhaps due to the peculiar location of our house which lies in some dead frequency zone. Never mind, this is also a part of army life every station where we get posted gives us different challenges, and we accept it with grace as assuming something good is hiding behind it.

Coming back to posts, one more addition in halwa or Prasad series i.e Aloo ka halwa | potato fudge.. Isn’t interesting, halwa made of our all time favorite evergreen potatoes ? It always amazed me, however, for texture and taste I’ll give full marks to this amazing preparation.

Only three main ingredients make this halwa perfect for Prasad or nivedyam. Since, we are not using any sort of flour in it you can count it in gluten free recipe also.

Is Halwa can be made with sweet potato too?

Yes, you can surely use sweet potato instead of potatoes. In Fact there is a similar version of ‘falahari ‘ or fasting halwa recipe which uses sweet potato aka ‘shakarkandi’. And this halwa is known as ‘shakarkandi’ ka halwa. Soon I will post that recipe too.

Finally, For prasad recipes you can have a look at my other post also like Suji Halwa, Besan Halwa, Atta halwa etc..Sharing Step by step recipe of Aloo halwa. Although a bit tricky as proper roasting and browning is required but if you follow these steps properly you will achieve good results.
